Welcome to IMOI ("Company", "We", "Us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website www.imoi.in (the "Site"), our e-commerce marketplace ("The IMOI Store"), and our professional design services ("The Innovation Lab"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. The IMOI 
Ecosystem

 

We operate in two capacities:

  • The Store: A curated marketplace for handcrafted, engineered products.

  • The Innovation Lab: A B2B creative consultancy offering branding, industrial design, and manufacturing services.

  • Note: Specific projects undertaken via The Innovation Lab may be subject to a separate Master Services Agreement (MSA) which will supersede these general website terms where applicable.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features (like Order Tracking or Whitelisting), you may need to register an account. You agree to provide accurate, current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password. IMOI cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

4. Intellectual
Property
(B2B vs B2C)

We take creativity seriously.

  • 3.1 The Store (B2C): All content on this Site—including product designs, photography (Images are for illustrative purposes only. Actual product may vary slightly), text, graphics, and logos—is the exclusive property of IMOI or our artisan partners and is protected by Indian and International copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our products without express written permission.

  • 3.2 The Innovation Lab (B2B): For our agency clients, IP ownership is transferred only upon full payment and completion of the project, as defined in your specific Service Agreement. Until such transfer, all preliminary concepts and sketches remain the property of IMOI.

5. Limitation of
Liability 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IMOI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including lost profits or data) arising out of your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

6. Purchases
& Payments

  • Currency: All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.

  • Availability: Our products are often handcrafted or small-batch. We cannot guarantee stock availability at all times.

  • Errors: We reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing or descriptions and to cancel orders arising from such errors.

  • Please refer to our dedicated [Shipping & Returns Policy] Section for detailed information on delivery timelines, return windows, and refund processing. This policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mangalur, Karnataka.

  • 2.1 For The Store (Shoppers):

    • Transaction Data: Details about payments to and from you and other details of products you have purchased from us. Note: We do not store your credit card numbers; these are processed securely by our payment gateway partners (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe).

  • 2.2 For The Innovation Lab (B2B Clients):

    • Business Data: Company registration details, GSTIN, and project briefs.

    • Proprietary Info: Any sketches, CAD files, or trade secrets shared during the consultation phase are treated as strictly confidential and are often covered by a separate Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

  • 2.3 For Our Artisan Partners:

    • Profile Data: Names, photographs, and biographies used to create "Creator Profiles" on the site (with explicit consent).

    • Financial Data: Bank account details for payouts.

3. How We Use
Your Data

We use your personal data only when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we use it to:

  • Fulfill Contracts: To process and deliver your order or complete a design project.

  • Improve Experience: To personalize your view of the store (e.g., showing relevant currency or recommendations).

RETURNS

1. Shipping
Zones
& Costs

All products ordered through The IMOI Store, whether through online or offline channels, are delivered by imoi store personnel. This procedure is necessary as assembly and fixtures may be required for certain products. Presently, our delivery zones are confined to the cities in which we operate, specifically Mangalore and Bangalore. We anticipate expanding to additional cities in the near future. 

  • Domestic (India):

    • A standard flat rate is applied to all shipments, determined by the type of order and the proximity of the delivery address to our warehouse. This information will be provided during the quotation process.

  • International (Global):

    • Shipping costs are assessed after the product price has been paid. Subsequently, a quotation will be provided based on the volumetric weight of the package and the destination country.

    • Note: International orders may be subject to import duties/taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.

2. Dispatch
Timelines

At IMOI, we value sustainability over speed. We do not hold massive inventory to prevent waste.

  • "In-Stock" Items: Dispatched within 24–48 hours of order confirmation.

  • "Made-to-Order" Items: Some of our specialized pieces enter production only after you order them.

    • Crafting Time: 9-10 Days.

    • Quality Check (QC): 1 Day.

    • Dispatch: 1 Day.

3. Returns
Policy

We want you to love your IMOI product. If you don't, we're here to help.

  • Return Window: You have 24 hours from the date of delivery to initiate a return.

  • Eligibility:

    • Item must be unused and in original condition.

    • All tags, manuals, and original packaging must be intact.

  • Non-Returnable Items:

    • Customized or Personalized products (e.g., engraved items).

    • Bulk B2B orders (subject to separate contract terms).

    • Items purchased during a "Clearance Sale."

Refund Process

  • Once we receive the returned item and it passes our quality check, the refund will be initiated within 48 hours.

  • The amount will be credited back to your original payment source within 5–7 business days.

4. Damaged
Items

While we engineer our packaging to withstand transit shocks, accidents happen.

  • Protocol: If you receive a damaged product, please report it within 24 hours of delivery.

  • How to Report:

    1. Take clear photos/videos of the damaged box and the product.

    2. Email us at sales@imoi.in with your Order ID.

The "Handmade" Disclaimer 

  • Variation is not a Defect: Many of our products use natural materials (wood, leather) and are finished by hand. Slight variations in grain, texture, or color are proof of authenticity and are not considered manufacturing defects eligible for a "faulty" return.

1. Coverage at
a Glance

Every IMOI product comes with a standard warranty to protect you against functional manufacturing defects.

  • 1-Year Structural Warranty: Covers defects in craftsmanship, such as failing metal welds, wood joinery separation, or structural instability not caused by impact.

  • 1-Year Electrical/Smart Warranty: Covers any tech-integrated components, including LEDs, smart touch-sensors, internal wiring, and integrated batteries.

2. What is strictly
NOT covered?

To keep our promise sustainable, our warranty does not cover issues arising from misuse or natural material evolution:

  • Accidental Damage: Drops, impacts, spills, or intentional modifications.

  • Improper Care: Damage caused by using harsh chemical cleaners on raw materials.

  • The "Living Finish" (Patina): We celebrate natural materials. Unlacquered brass, copper, and genuine leather will darken, scratch, and develop a unique patina over time. This is the hallmark of authenticity and is not considered a defect.

  • Natural Wood Variations: Wood is a living material. Slight expansions /contractions due to regional humidity, or variations in grain pattern, are not covered.

3. After-Sales

We believe that true engineering means repairability. If your product is out of warranty, or if you accidentally damaged it, we don't want you to throw it away.

  • Spare Parts Network: Lost a custom screw? Did a glass shade break during a move? We maintain a back-catalog of structural spare parts for all our core products.

  • Factory Restoration (Paid Service): If your product has suffered severe wear and tear, you can ship it back to our Bengaluru lab. Our artisans will polish, rewire, and restore it to its original glory for a transparent, standard service fee.

4. How to Request
Support or
File a Claim

We respect your time. Whether you need a warranty replacement or an out-of-warranty repair quote, the process is the same:

  1. Record: Take clear photos or a short 10-second video demonstrating the issue.

  2. Report: Fill out the form below with your Order ID and select your request type.

  3. Resolve: Our engineering support team will review your ticket within 48 hours. We will arrange a reverse pickup, ship a replacement part, or provide a repair quote.
