Frequently Asked Questions
Are items restocked, or are they limited edition?
Both. Our "Core Collection" is restocked regularly. However, we frequently drop "One Of One Originals" which are limited-run batches. Once these are sold out, they are archived to maintain their exclusivity.
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. We stand behind "Value that Lasts."
Electronics/Smart Products: 1-Year Standard Warranty on technical components.
Lifestyle/Decor: 1-Year Warranty against manufacturing defects (glue failure, joinery issues).
Note: Natural wear and tear or patina development is not covered.
I am an artisan or manufacturer. How can I partner with IMOI?
We are always looking for exceptional Indian talent to join our ecosystem. If you are a creator who values precision and quality, please visit the "Join the Movement" section in the footer and select "Supplier Partnership" to submit your portfolio for review.
What is the typical timeline for a product design project?
Timelines vary by complexity, but a typical "Sprint" (Design to Prototype) takes 6–8 weeks. Full-scale manufacturing setup may take an additional 4–8 weeks. You can use the "Project Timeline Calculator" on our Services page to get a rough estimate based on your specific needs.
Do you handle manufacturing, or just design?
We handle both. We call this "Concept-to-Crate." Once we design your product, we can leverage our network of vetted Indian manufacturers to produce it for you. We oversee Quality Control (QC) and logistics, ensuring the final product matches the initial prototype perfectly.
Does IMOI own the Intellectual Property (IP) of the designs you create for us?
No. We work as your innovation partner. Once the project is completed and paid for, you own 100% of the Intellectual Property, including all CAD files, design patents, and branding assets. We exist to build your brand, not ours.
I have an idea. Can IMOI help me build it from scratch?
Absolutely. This is our core expertise. Our Innovation Lab handles the entire lifecycle: from initial market strategy and industrial design (ID) to prototyping and final manufacturing. You can start by filling out the "Initiate Collaboration" form on our Innovation Lab page.
What is your return policy on "Made-to-Order" items?
Items marked as "Made-to-Order" or "Custom Commission" in the store are crafted specifically for you and cannot be returned unless there is a manufacturing defect.
Where are your products manufactured?
100% of our inventory is designed and sourced in India. We work with specialized clusters
What does "Intelligent Design, Handcrafted" actually mean?
We believe that technology and tradition should coexist. Every product in The IMOI Store starts with modern engineering (CAD design, ergonomic testing) but is finished by master Indian artisans. You aren't just buying a product; you are buying a piece of heritage engineered for modern life
What Makes IMOI Different?
At IMOI, we don’t believe in ordinary furniture production — we believe in craftsmanship that begins long before the first cut of wood. Our team personally visits multiple suppliers to handpick the finest quality logs like Devdar, Kalabage, and other premium Indian woods.
Each log then undergoes a four-week water-seasoning process, where water is changed regularly to:
Prevent cracks, warping, or uneven drying.
Naturally protect against fungus and insects.
Wash away sap, dust, and tannins.
Strengthen the wood for long-term durability.
Every log is lifted and cut with precision using cranes, ensuring structure and design accuracy. From nuts and bolts to hydraulic systems, and from solid wood to Kenwood plywood, IMOI maintains uncompromised quality.
Each creation is tested, engineered, and refined to deliver strength, elegance, and soul — because true craftsmanship is never rushed.
Why IMOI?
Because we bridge the gap between "Handmade" and "High-Tech."
Most brands are either purely industrial (mass-produced, soulless, plastic) or purely craft (beautiful but often lacking functional precision). IMOI is both.
Here is the IMOI difference:
Engineered Artistry: We use CAD precision to design for durability and ergonomics, but we trust the final finish to the hands of master Indian artisans.
Radical Transparency: We don't hide our supply chain. On every product page, you see exactly who made your item and where the materials came from.
Designed for Life, Not Trends: We don't do "fast fashion" for the home. Our products are built from solid, honest materials (brass, teak, stone) that age gracefully and last for generations.
When you choose IMOI, you aren't just buying an object; you are investing in Indian innovation that competes on a global stage.
